Finding Suitable Sites
The choice of the best-suited receiver site requires a careful planning and check of the relevant
areas. However, certain reasons may exclude installation at the best-suited site. Please read the
following section before installing a device.
Properties of Radio Waves
The propagation of radio waves and the transmitter range depend on the design of the building and
the construction materials used. Office machines and entertainment devices such as computers, TV
and fax devices may interfere with the transmission of radio waves. They may adversely affect the
function of transmitters and receivers, for example, by noise or radio disturbance.
The figure below illustrates the transfer modes of radio waves.
1. Objects (e.g., of metal) reflect radio waves.
